Following a murder investigation into the death of a man with severe injuries, a woman has been taken into custody, as confirmed by the police.

Cleveland Police reported that they responded to Ayton Crescent in Eston, Middlesbrough, where a man was discovered with significant injuries following a call from a member of the public around 11pm on Saturday.

Tragically, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

In a swift operation that included assistance from the National Police Air Service, a 39-year-old woman was apprehended and is currently in police custody, according to authorities.

Efforts are ongoing to locate a second individual, the police added.

Superintendent Daryll Tomlinson stated on Sunday, “I want to reassure the community that this is an isolated incident and does not pose a broader risk to the public.

“Police will continue to be present at the scene in Ayton Crescent, with heightened vigilance in the vicinity.
