A woman reportedly killed her former spouse, aged 38, in a brutal acid assault following an alleged hit orchestrated by his employer to settle a £120,000 drug debt. The incident took place in the early hours of February 21 last year when two individuals invaded the residence of Danny Cahalane, a father of two, in Plymouth, Devon. During the attack, Danny sustained severe chemical burns from sulfuric acid and was promptly hospitalized. Despite surviving the initial assault, he succumbed to his injuries ten weeks later on May 3, 2025. The accused, Paris Wilson, 35, is currently on trial alongside nine others, including Jenna Said, 39, in connection with the attack.

Court proceedings revealed that prior to his demise, Danny was involved in a significant drug trafficking operation and owed a substantial sum to Ryan Kennedy, also known as Frost. Prosecutors stated that Danny admitted to misusing profits from the operation, leading to his indebtedness to Kennedy. Threatening messages from Kennedy to Danny were presented in court, indicating a deteriorating situation between the two. Kennedy had allegedly planned a failed kidnapping of Danny in January 2025, followed by further ominous messages warning of impending harm.

The prosecutor emphasized that the intent to cause serious harm or death was evident in the acid attack on Mr. Cahalane. The ten individuals implicated in the trial have all pleaded not guilty to the charges. The legal proceedings are ongoing.
