A 23-year-old woman wanted in connection with serious child sex offenses in Lithuania was discovered hiding in a wardrobe in Northern Ireland, according to the police.

Following a forced entry by officers from the International Policing Unit at a rural property in Coalisland, the woman was apprehended under a Lithuanian extradition warrant. The PSNI confirmed that the officers found her concealed in a wardrobe.

She is being sought in Lithuania to face a prison term related to grave sexual crimes against a child in the Mazeikiai region of the country. The woman is scheduled to appear before Laganside Extradition Court on Thursday.

Sergeant Davey, of the PSNI’s International Policing Unit, stated, “Despite the fugitive’s attempts to evade accountability, she was captured today.”

He emphasized, “Today’s arrest underscores our commitment to relentlessly pursue offenders and support victims.”

Superintendent Marty Reid, also from the International Policing Unit, affirmed that the PSNI is dedicated to locating fugitives and assisting European law enforcement partners.

He further mentioned the collaboration with the UK Joint International Crime Centre, Interpol, and Europol to ensure justice for victims both in Northern Ireland and abroad.
