Wren Kitchens has taken a sudden decision to close all 15 of its stores following the recent declaration of bankruptcy liquidation. This move has resulted in all employees at these locations losing their jobs as the British company withdraws from the US market.

The prominent UK fitted kitchen retailer has shut down its East Coast US showrooms and Wren Kitchen Studios within Home Depot stores. These closures come in the wake of the company filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy liquidation in the US on April 24.

Wren initiated the legal process in the US that allows businesses to settle debts by selling assets to repay creditors. Home Depot confirmed Wren’s cessation of operations in the US, including the closure of their showrooms within Home Depot stores, expressing surprise at the abrupt closure.

Wren’s website also informed visitors about the closure of their showrooms and studios, providing a link for assistance. The family-run business, known as Wren US Holdings Inc., filed for bankruptcy in the US, listing assets ranging from $100 million to $500 million.

Reports indicate that staff at the affected outlets were not given any prior notice before being laid off. The sudden closures have left many customers in uncertainty, unsure if they will receive refunds for payments made to Wren, with some customers having paid in full for outstanding kitchen orders.

Prior to the closures, as of early 2026, Wren Kitchens operated over 110 showrooms across the UK. The company, as a leading specialist kitchen retailer in the nation, had been experiencing rapid growth and had plans to expand into various towns and cities.
