Frank Beard, the renowned drummer of the legendary Texas rock band ZZ Top, known for his iconic beats in hit songs like “Sharp Dressed Man,” “Legs,” and “Gimme All Your Lovin’,” has passed away at the age of 77. He was surrounded by family at his ranch in Richmond, Texas, where he was under hospice care.
Bandmate Billy Gibbons, along with touring bassist Elwood Francis, paid tribute to Beard, emphasizing his innovative drumming style and his integral role in ZZ Top’s success over the span of six decades. ZZ Top, recognized for selling over 50 million records and achieving multiple chart-topping singles and albums, has garnered immense acclaim and earned three Grammy Award nominations.
