“UK Shipping Company Jaco Couriers Liquidated with £140K Debt”

Published on

A UK shipping company has gone into liquidation with debts of nearly £140,000. Jaco Couriers Limited, based in Aberdeen, was forced into liquidation after legal action by HMRC. The company, which had 10 employees, was dissolved and a liquidator appointed following a petition to Aberdeen Sheriff Court. Duncan Raggett of AAB Business & Tax Advisory has been appointed as the liquidator.

According to Companies House records, Jaco Couriers Limited owed creditors £139,000 in 2024. HMRC stated that they only pursue winding-up petitions as a last resort to protect taxpayers’ money after exhausting all other options.

In a separate case, Glasgow-based Woodside Homes Limited has entered members’ voluntary liquidation and is expected to settle all outstanding debts. FRP Advisory has been named as the liquidator after a shareholders’ meeting where it was agreed to wind up the company voluntarily.

These developments come amidst financial challenges faced by Scottish businesses.
