However, a TikTok user shared exciting news on Tuesday, claiming that a Southwest gate agent disclosed a potential reversal of part of the new customer size policy implemented earlier in January. According to the traveler, Southwest might revert to the original policy allowing passengers to book an extra seat at no charge upon arrival at the airport without the need for pre-purchase.

In response to inquiries, Southwest mentioned that on flights with available seats, gate agents could assign an additional seat at no extra cost to customers needing one. If no extra seat was available, the airline would make efforts to accommodate the passenger on a subsequent flight.
