Callum Turner and Dua Lipa have tied the knot, and their love story could easily be a script from a Hollywood movie. Callum shared the charming details of how he first met the “Don’t Start Now” singer, and it was nothing short of a romantic comedy moment.
Their relationship began to blossom when they were first seen together at the premiere of Master of the Air in London in January 2024. Subsequently, they were captured in a sweet moment sharing a kiss during a date at Sushi Park in Los Angeles later that same month.
After becoming Instagram official, the couple made their debut on the red carpet at the 2025 Met Gala, marking a significant milestone in their relationship that started at a friend’s birthday party over a shared book.
In an interview with The Sunday Times, Callum recounted their serendipitous first encounter, saying, “We sat next to each other and realized we were reading the same book, which is crazy. It’s called Trust, and I had just finished the first chapter, and I told her, and she looked at me and said, ‘I just finished the first chapter too.’ I said, ‘So we’re on the same page.'”
Describing their connection as straight out of a movie, Callum expressed, “In the movie version of it, I look up to the sky and I’m like, I hear you. I understand. The signs are loud, don’t worry. And that was really the first [moment].”
Before meeting Callum, Dua Lipa confessed to Rolling Stone that dating was perplexing for her. She mentioned that meeting new people through friends or trusted connections was crucial for her as a public figure navigating the complexities of relationships.
The couple got engaged in January 2025 but decided to take their time planning the wedding, as Dua was immersed in her extensive 81-date Radical Optimism Tour, which garnered over £100 million.
During this period, Dua shared with British Vogue, “I want to finish my tour, Callum’s shooting [a movie], so we’re just enjoying this period… I’ve never been someone who’s really thought about a wedding, or dreamt about what kind of bride I would be. All of a sudden, I’m like: ‘Oh, what would I wear?'”
Expressing her excitement about her engagement ring and the depth of understanding it symbolizes between her and Callum, Dua remarked that while they both aspire to have children, their demanding schedules make it challenging to pinpoint the right timing for such a significant life event.
Reports from The Sun suggested that Dua’s close friends Charli xcx and Tove Lo were among the guests at their lavish wedding ceremony held at Old Marylebone Town Hall, with speculation that Sir Elton John might perform, considering their past collaboration.
