A university lecturer from the UK is currently hospitalized in Greece after a serious quad bike accident during her holiday. Chathurika Goonawardane, who teaches computer science in Manchester, sustained severe injuries when she fell from a cliff while riding as a passenger on a quad bike in Crete.
Due to her condition, Chathurika cannot return to the UK on a standard commercial flight and requires specialized medical transport while lying flat. The estimated cost for her safe repatriation starts at £10,000, with ongoing fundraising efforts having already gathered over £3,000.
Friends and colleagues are rallying support to bring Chathurika back home for her recovery, emphasizing her selfless dedication to others through her teaching role. They are seeking donations to cover the expenses of the medical transport, urging individuals to contribute or help spread the word to aid in bringing her back to the UK for continued care and rehabilitation.
