Paula Wilcox, known for her acting roles and personal life dramas, stars in the new show “The Fortune” which debuted on Channel 5. The series follows the character Amanda, portrayed by Eleanor Tomlinson, who unexpectedly inherits a large sum of money and a country estate.
In the show, Wilcox plays Amanda’s mother Linda, who struggles with dementia. Wilcox, who has been married to American businessman Nelson “Skip” Riddle since 1991, was previously married to actor Derek Seaton. Their marriage ended tragically when Seaton passed away from a brain haemorrhage at the age of 35.
Seaton, known for his roles in “Doctor Who” and “Coronation Street,” left Wilcox a widow at a young age. The loss was compounded by the death of her friend Richard Beckinsale. Wilcox described the period as challenging, with multiple losses affecting her deeply.
Despite the personal tragedies, Wilcox continued her acting career, focusing more on theater work during the 1980s. She emphasized the difficulty of coping with the sudden losses but found solace in her professional endeavors.
“The Fortune” is now airing on Channel 5, offering viewers a captivating drama series with Wilcox showcasing her talent on screen.
