The 83-year-old renowned Hollywood director, known for classics like Taxi Driver and The Irishman, is now working with a company named Black Forest Labs to advise on their FLUX image-generation system.

In a statement, Scorsese expressed his interest in merging technology with storytelling to enhance audience experiences. He clarified that AI will not replace human talent but rather assist in the pre-production phase, streamlining the visualization process for his creative team.

Scorsese emphasized his openness to new cinematic innovations, citing past uses of 3D and de-aging technology. The integration of AI is expected to benefit his latest project, an adaptation of the novel “What Happens at Night,” featuring stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence.

While Scorsese champions AI’s potential, other industry figures have voiced concerns. Some A-list actors criticized the use of AI actors, with Demi Moore advocating for collaboration between Hollywood and AI at the Cannes film festival.
