Zoe Ball has secured a new position after missing out on the top role on the popular show “Strictly Come Dancing.” Reports suggest that she will be switching to a different television channel, following the path of former colleagues such as Simon Mayo and Ken Bruce.
Formerly the voice of BBC Radio 2 until December last year, Zoe is anticipated to start her new job at Greatest Hits Radio in the upcoming autumn season. Despite expressing interest in the Strictly role herself, she was not ultimately selected.
Instead, a new trio of presenters – Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe, and Johannes Radebe – were chosen to lead the show. Zoe, undeterred by this setback, has reportedly accepted the offer to join Greatest Hits Radio. A source revealed to The Sun that the station had been keen on having her for some time, and upon learning about the Strictly opportunity, she made the decision to embrace the radio position.
Having previously participated in Strictly Come Dancing as a contestant and later hosting its spin-off “Strictly: It Takes Two” until last year, Zoe expressed her feelings about missing out on the main presenting role. Despite feeling disappointed, she commended the trio who secured the positions, stating that the show is in capable hands with them.
The judging panel for the upcoming series will remain unchanged, with Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton Du Beke all set to return. Several popular professional dancers will also be back on the dance floor, including last year’s winner Carlos Gu, Dianne Buswell, Nikita Kuzmin, Katya Jones, Johannes Radebe, and Alexis Warr. However, five professionals have announced their departure from the show, including Gorka Márquez, Karen Hauer, Luba Mushtuk, Michelle Tsiakkas, and Nadiya Bychkova.
