Dame Arlene Phillips has publicly shared her thoughts on the new presenting team for the upcoming season of the popular show “Strictly Come Dancing.” The BBC has made significant changes to the show, including the introduction of a new hosting trio.

Arlene, a renowned choreographer who was part of the original judging panel when the show premiered in 2004, expressed her opinions on the trio who will now lead the show. The trio consists of presenter Emma Willis, comedian Josh Widdicombe, and Strictly professional dancer Johannes Radebe.

The announcement of the new presenters came after much speculation about who would replace long-standing hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman. Arlene commented on the trio, suggesting that the dynamics with three presenters might be challenging.

Expressing her curiosity about how the new season will unfold, Arlene mentioned her anticipation for the upcoming drama on the show. She particularly highlighted her concern for Johannes, a fan-favorite dancer, as his shift to hosting raises questions about his future as a dancer on the show.

At a recent event, Arlene shared her views on Emma, describing her as “lovely,” while acknowledging that she is not familiar with Josh. The hosting changes are part of a broader revamp that also saw the departure of five pro dancers from the upcoming series.

When asked about a possible return to the judging panel, Arlene firmly stated that she has no plans to do so. Despite facing challenges in the past, including her controversial exit from Strictly, Arlene was honored with a Damehood in 2021 for her contributions to dance and charity.
