At least 17 individuals sustained injuries when a tourist train overturned in a city in Spain. The incident occurred in Cartama, located approximately 10 miles from Malaga, on Saturday evening around 9:30 pm local time. Images depicting the aftermath show the train carriage on its side along Santo Cristo road. The exact cause of the accident remains unknown, but authorities have confirmed that the train capsized while crossing.

Emergency responders tended to over a dozen injured individuals at the scene. Four people, including three children, were later transported to a nearby hospital. Fortunately, none of the injuries are deemed severe. Reports indicate that around 30 passengers were on board at the time of the incident.

Following the accident, the tourist train service has been halted for the weekend. Law enforcement officials have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. The train was part of a local event known as la Ruta de la Tapa y el Coctel, which promotes exploring various businesses in the city and sampling their offerings.

This annual festival, running from June 10 to 14, involves the train making stops at different venues, with tourists provided a map highlighting the locations. Cartama is situated in proximity to the popular destinations of Malaga and Marbella.
