“Widespread Outage: Vodafone Customers in Australia Restricted to Emergency Calls”

Published on

Vodafone customers in various parts of Australia are experiencing a situation where their mobile phones are only able to make emergency calls. More than 2,800 users noted this issue on Downdetector, a real-time outage tracking platform, soon after 9 am on Thursday, June 18, local time. The telecommunications provider is currently looking into a widespread service disruption.

Impacted individuals have observed their devices switching to emergency “SOS” mode across the nation. Vodafone has recommended that affected customers try restarting their phones to address the problem. Interestingly, the company’s own online status checker experienced difficulties during this outage period, and users have reported encountering error messages.

As this is an evolving incident, further updates will be shared as they become available to keep users informed.
