Dave shared that his experience at the 1966 final is hazy due to his young age but is excited to attend all group matches and the final of the upcoming tournament in the United States. His journey, including travel and tickets, cost around £20,000, but his passion for attending World Cup events since 2010 remains unwavering.
A resident of Canterbury, Kent, Dave is the President and former vice chairman of Marine FC in Merseyside. He expressed his commitment to only attending England matches during the tournament, emphasizing the importance of supporting a team one truly follows.
Having attended World Cups in South Africa, Brazil, Russia, and Qatar, Dave is a dedicated Everton season ticket holder who travels from Kent to Merseyside for games. Despite work commitments that may briefly take him away from the tournament, he is prepared to return to the US if England advances to the final.
Before the crucial match against Ghana, Dave enjoyed a fishing trip in Boston. The Ghanaian team is hopeful that goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi, who sustained a groin injury, will recover in time to face England.
