X Factor champion Joe McElderry is gearing up for a return to the music charts, nearly twenty years after triumphing in the singing contest. The 35-year-old rose to fame on the ITV show under the guidance of Cheryl, ultimately outshining competitors Stacey Solomon and Olly Murs to claim victory in 2009.
Having taken a hiatus from the limelight, McElderry has unveiled a new track titled “Love Me Out Loud,” featuring heartfelt lyrics reflecting his personal romantic struggles. The singer shared, “I’m sure everybody’s been through this, where you fall for somebody and know from the get-go this person is so wrong for me. In the back of your mind, you know it’s going to end in disaster.”
Self-described as “horrendously single,” McElderry elaborated in an interview with the Sun, saying, “It’s like that inner battle with yourself, like, ‘They’re so wrong for us, but I’m in it now and I’ve just got to kind of go with it now because I’ve fallen for them’.”
The track “Love Me Out Loud” made its debut last week to a positive reception from fans, who flooded McElderry’s Instagram page with glowing comments. Anticipation is already building for his upcoming pop-dance release slated for September. Despite missing out on the Christmas number one spot due to a protest download campaign, McElderry has since released five albums and transitioned to a successful stage career, appearing in productions like Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Cinderella.
