“Georgia Harrison Confronts Ex’s Restraining Order Breach”

Published on

Georgia Harrison has addressed the situation following her ex-partner, Stephen Bear, being found guilty of violating a restraining order meant to safeguard her. Bear, who previously served time for unlawfully sharing a private video of the couple on OnlyFans, admitted to breaching the order by launching an online attack against Georgia.

Upon his release from prison in early 2024, Bear initiated a social media campaign accusing Georgia of conspiring against him, suggesting his conviction was part of a hidden agenda. His posts, some of which garnered millions of views, contained defamatory content and images of Georgia.

Despite being pregnant at the time, Georgia opted not to attend the recent court proceedings where Bear’s guilt was established. She explained that she refrained from being present as giving him attention was more valuable to him than facing the consequences of his actions. Georgia emphasized the importance of not feeding into Bear’s desire for a spectacle fueled by attention.

Furthermore, Georgia, who welcomed her first child, Sahara Jean, in October, has been a vocal advocate for enhancing legal protections for women and girls against violence. Rising to fame on Love Island in 2017, Georgia transitioned into activism by 2021, earning recognition with an MBE for her efforts, a first for a Love Island participant.

In a separate incident in January 2021, Bear was arrested for uploading a private video of himself and Georgia to his OnlyFans account without consent. Subsequently, he was convicted of voyeurism and disclosing intimate images, receiving a prison sentence of 21 months and a restraining order prohibiting contact with Georgia for five years.

Throughout the legal battles, Georgia waived her right to anonymity to raise awareness about the impact of ‘revenge porn’ on victims. She has actively campaigned for increased support for individuals facing sexual crimes, leading to legislative changes in the Online Safety Act in October 2023.

Praising Georgia’s courage and advocacy, Labour MP Jess Phillips commended her efforts to drive legal reforms and support women and girls affected by such offenses. Bear is awaiting sentencing at Chelmsford Crown Court next month.
