“England Fans Flock to US for Panama Showdown”

Published on

England is set to have a massive turnout of supporters in the United States as they prepare to face Panama tomorrow. Over 10,000 fans, including many flying in from the UK, will be present at the MetLife Stadium in New York/New Jersey for the crucial group match. With a seating capacity of 78,576, it is anticipated that more than 30,000 supporters will be donning the white England shirts.

The number of attendees could potentially increase even more due to the significant expatriate community in the US who passionately follow Harry Kane and the team. Ahead of the game, England completed their final training session in Kansas City, with Kane hinting at possible lineup changes to keep the squad fresh for the upcoming rounds.

A victory in this match would secure England’s spot in the knockout stage, leading them to a clash in Atlanta for the round of 32. Potential opponents for the Three Lions include Ecuador, Senegal, Iraq, Algeria, Austria, Portugal, and DR Congo. Winning the group would set up a potential showdown with Mexico at the iconic Azteca Stadium.

Before looking ahead to future matches, England must focus on their current task of defeating Panama, who are at the bottom of the group and on their way home. Ticket prices for transportation to the stadium have been reduced to accommodate the influx of fans, with various modes of transport quickly selling out.

Not only will Three Lions supporters be present in large numbers, but also Premier League fans from the surrounding regions are expected to show their support for England. Personalities like Britain’s Got Talent finalist Sonny Green have been spotted in New York, soaking in the atmosphere before the crucial match against Panama.

Thomas Concannon, the lead for the Football Supporters’ Association fans embassy in the US, highlighted the significant turnout of fans traveling from the UK specifically for this game. He mentioned the anticipation for a long stay in the US if England progresses further in the tournament.

The draw against Ghana added complexity to fans’ travel plans, as the team’s future match locations remain uncertain. Chief Constable Mark Roberts confirmed the substantial number of England supporters heading to New York, with thousands expected to attend the match.
