Prince Harry is reportedly planning a trip to the UK with his children Archie and Lilibet, where they will visit Princess Diana’s grave for the first time. The visit will mark Harry and Meghan Markle’s first joint visit to the UK in four years. The royal couple is expected to attend an event in July commemorating the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham.
During their UK visit, Prince Harry intends to take his children, 7-year-old Prince Archie and 5-year-old Princess Lilibet, to Althorp House to pay respects at Diana’s grave. This emotional visit will coincide with what would have been Diana’s 65th birthday. Diana was laid to rest on an island at Althorp House, her ancestral estate in West Northamptonshire, which is not open to the public.
Although Harry has visited his mother’s grave multiple times since her passing, this will be the first time his children will pay their respects. The couple’s itinerary also includes participating in the Invictus events in Birmingham and London from July 6 to 10. Notably, the Althorp Estate will be closed to visitors on July 10 and 11, with Princess Diana’s birthday falling on July 1, adding significance to the family’s visit around that time.
Althorp House, owned by Diana’s brother Charles Spencer, the 9th Earl Spencer, has been a meaningful place for Harry. He previously stayed at the estate during his UK visits, including in 2024 for the funeral of Lord Robert Fellowes. In his autobiography, Harry reflected on the poignant visits to his mother’s grave, including Meghan’s first visit in 2022, marking the 25th anniversary of Diana’s passing.
Preparations for the royal family’s visit have included an offer from King Charles for them to stay in royal accommodations for security reasons. It has been reported that Harry has accepted the offer to stay at Buckingham Palace. The family is expected to meet with King Charles during their stay, with sources suggesting a potential reconciliation between the King and Harry and Meghan.
