A young boy is recuperating at his residence following an attack by a stray cow while he was playing outdoors. The distressing incident occurred on Friday, June 19, and the boy’s ordeal was captured on video. Startling footage depicts the animal chasing the child, knocking him down, and repeatedly jabbing at him with its horns, causing the boy to scream in fear.
Fortunately, nearby residents heard the boy’s cries and rushed to his aid. A man retrieved one of the boy’s sliders and attempted to scare the cow away by slamming it on the ground. He then lifted the child and, with the help of others, fled as the cow, accompanied by another bovine, pursued them down the narrow lane.
During the escape, the rescuer stumbled but shielded the boy with his own body as the cow tried to attack again. Another man intervened and successfully drove the animals away from the scene. The incident unfolded in the Tughlakabad area of New Delhi, India, on the reported date.
Following the incident, authorities apprehended both animals and relocated them to a goshala, a shelter for stray cows, in Delhi’s Rewla Khanpur region. An official source confirmed that the child sustained injuries but is currently in recovery.
Local officials have noted a steady increase in the number of stray cattle in the area, attributing it to the proliferation of illegal dairies. They have promised to take action against both the implicated businesses and cattle owners who allow their animals to roam freely on public thoroughfares.
