A graduate from Nottingham Trent University has been tragically found dead after disappearing during a run in Peru almost a week ago. Jordan Maginley, aged 29, was last spotted on CCTV jogging on the Malecón de Miraflores, a six-mile cliffside walkway in Lima, Peru, on June 14.
Born in Peru, the British national completed a four-year quantity surveying program at Nottingham Trent University from 2016 to 2020. He was employed as a senior quantity surveyor at Gleeds, a construction consultancy that established an office in Lima in 2020.
Reports from local media indicate that Mr. Maginley experienced a medical emergency while running and was rushed to a hospital. Due to a lack of identification, he was admitted as an unknown patient and was not initially connected to the missing persons inquiry.
Peruvian sources revealed that his body was identified on June 20 following proper documentation and collaboration with diplomatic channels. His disappearance prompted a search effort after he did not return from his run, with CCTV footage capturing him along the coastal path before his disappearance.
An investigation is currently underway to determine the circumstances surrounding his untimely death.
