A woman, identified as Andrea Shaw, aged 23, has been formally accused of the murder of her 18-month-old twins over a year subsequent to their tragic demise. The incident took place in Payette, Idaho, where Shaw faces two charges of first-degree murder concerning the passing of her twin offspring. The toddlers, a boy and a girl, were discovered lifeless in a shared bed on May 1, 2025, prompting an extensive investigation by the Payette Police Department.
Shortly after the distressing incident, Shaw participated in a podcast orchestrated by Children’s Health Defense, an anti-vaccine group, with her spouse. During the podcast, Shaw implied that her twins fell ill following the administration of three vaccinations, despite her previous support for vaccines. In response to a question about her sentiments post-tragedy, considering her prior pro-vaccine stance, Shaw expressed regret, stating, “I feel that I wish I was anti-vaccine now.”
Shaw, who recently gave birth to another child on June 25, was peacefully apprehended in Boise, Idaho. Her legal representative, Joe Filicetti, posits that the deaths of the children were vaccine-related, aligning with Shaw’s assertions on the podcast. Filicetti conveyed to KTVB his conviction that the fatalities were linked to the vaccinations, emphasizing the need for medical expertise to investigate the complications surrounding the tragic event.
Law enforcement authorities treated the case as a homicide investigation following the simultaneous deaths of the twins. An officer remarked on the rarity of such an occurrence and expressed hope that the autopsies would shed light on the unanswered queries surrounding the case.
In an official statement released on June 30, Payette Police acknowledged the culmination of a comprehensive investigation leading to Shaw’s arrest. The statement underscored the involvement of various agencies in the investigation and indicated that further details would be disclosed through the judicial process as the case progresses.
Currently incarcerated at the Ada County Jail awaiting transfer to Payette County, Shaw will face charges of First Degree Murder in connection with the tragic loss of her twin children.
