Katya Jones, a prominent professional from the TV show Strictly Come Dancing, has expressed her willingness to step down from her current role but only if she is offered a position as a judge. The 37-year-old Russian dancer has been a key female professional on the program since 2016 and clinched the Glitterball trophy in 2017 with actor Joe McFadden.
Having previously served as a judge on Dancing with the Stars Belgium in 2025, Katya has voiced her desire to transition into a similar role on Strictly. During the TRIC Awards, when questioned about the possibility of becoming a judge on Strictly, she enthusiastically responded to the Express, stating, “Why not? Of course I would!” She emphasized her comfort in judging, indicating her keen interest in securing a judging seat on the show.
Previously a professional dancer on Strictly for 18 years before transitioning to a judge in 2021, Anton Du Beke provides an example of such a career shift. While the judging panel for the upcoming season remains consistent, changes in presenters have been made with the departures of Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.
