Police in Greater Manchester are conducting an urgent search for an escaped prisoner. The individual, Marwan Jumaa, age 20, fled custody while receiving medical treatment at North Manchester Hospital. Authorities have appealed for information on Jumaa’s whereabouts and advised the public not to approach him but to contact emergency services immediately.
Described as a black male with a slim build, short dark hair, and standing approximately 5ft 10ins tall, Jumaa is known to have connections in Bury, Prestwich, and Crumpsall in Greater Manchester, as well as Leeds and London. He was last seen in the Radcliffe area. Detective Superintendent Amber Waywell emphasized the danger Jumaa poses, particularly to females, given the nature of his previous offenses.
Jumaa is serving an indefinite secure hospital sentence for assaulting two women. Court records reveal his guilty plea to multiple charges, including assaulting a police officer, robbing a woman, and causing serious harm to another woman. Detective Chief Inspector Abigail Cronin urged anyone with information on Jumaa’s location to come forward, reassuring the community of ongoing efforts to locate and return him to custody promptly. If sighted, the public is advised to contact emergency services immediately, quoting the relevant log number.
