Emmanuel Ndubuisi, a courageous nurse at Sunderland Royal Hospital, swiftly responded to extinguish the fire caused by a female patient who tried to smoke her e-cigarette while connected to an oxygen supply.
Emmanuel acted promptly, cutting off the oxygen and using a fire extinguisher to prevent further flames from spreading. Despite suffering burns, the patient, a woman in her 50s, was spared from serious harm due to Emmanuel’s quick actions.
