On Monday, temperatures may soar to 36C in western and southern-central England, with the Midlands reaching 35C, Wales hitting 34C, and Yorkshire possibly seeing highs of 32C. Tuesday could see temperatures hitting 36C in East Anglia, with Lincolnshire and Yorkshire reaching 33C, the Midlands and southeast hitting 34C, and Wales experiencing 30C.

Scotland and Northern Ireland are expected to be cooler, with temperatures in the mid-20s or lower throughout the week. England is forecasted to have temperatures above 30C daily until Sunday, with highs of 34C in the south on Wednesday, 33C on Thursday, and 30-31C on Friday and Saturday.

Temperature anomaly maps show dark red areas over England and Wales, indicating temperatures significantly above average. Data suggests that 10 English counties could see temperatures reach 36C.

The Met Office forecasts above-average temperatures from August 8 to August 17, especially in southern regions, though possibly not as extreme as recent weeks. Thunderstorms may occur intermittently, with periods of rain and showers expected, particularly in southern and eastern areas.

Towards mid-August, high pressure could dominate the north or northwest of the UK, leading to variable rainfall amounts in southern and eastern regions due to frontal systems or thundery conditions.
