A tragic incident unfolded in Boynton Beach, Florida, where a three-year-old girl passed away after getting her head trapped in a toy kitchen set at her babysitter’s home. The Boynton Beach Police Department responded to a call reporting an unresponsive child not breathing on July 23. Despite immediate life-saving efforts by the officers and the arrival of Boynton Beach Fire Rescue, the toddler remained in critical condition and succumbed to her injuries on July 27.
The girl and her sibling were under the care of the babysitter’s spouse when the accident occurred. The spouse discovered the child with her head stuck inside the play kitchen during a routine check and promptly provided emergency assistance. The investigators were informed by the sibling that the girl had been attempting to retrieve toys from the play set when she became trapped.
The toy kitchen involved in the incident was described as an old wooden set purchased from Facebook Marketplace a few years ago, according to Boynton Beach Police Public Information Officer Chelsea Sanabia. The specifics of the kitchen’s make, model, or brand have not been determined. The cause of the child’s death has not been disclosed, and it is unclear if the case will undergo criminal review.
The identities of the girl, her parents, and the babysitter have not been disclosed as the investigation continues.
