Kelsey Parker Claps Back at Critics of Grieving Process

Kelsey Parker has responded to insensitive individuals who advised her to “move on” from Tom. The singer from The Wanted passed away at the age of 33 in 2022 after being diagnosed with an aggressive type of brain cancer two years earlier.

Following Tom’s tragic demise, Kelsey, aged 36, has openly shared her family life and grieving process on social media. Although she receives a lot of support, she also encounters hurtful remarks from online trolls.

In her recent post, the mother of two, who is getting ready to welcome a child with her partner Will Lindsay, decided to address those sending negative messages. Kelsey posted a video where she expressed her emotions on what would have been Tom’s 37th birthday.

In the video, Kelsey acknowledged that grief is not a linear journey, admitting that sorrow can unexpectedly resurface when triggered by a song or a significant date.

Shortly after sharing her video about “healing,” Kelsey faced criticism from a social media user who urged her to stop thinking about Tom. The message, posted on her Instagram Stories, stated: “Yes I am going to sound like a c*** but you need to stop thinking about your ex-husband who has passed away.”

Kelsey vehemently responded to the anonymous user, clarifying that Tom was not her ex-husband but her late husband. She emphasized that loving someone who has passed does not diminish with a new relationship, as grief is not something that one can simply move on from.

She highlighted that she and Will both understand the importance of remembering loved ones who have passed, as Will also cherishes the memory of his father who died when he was 21. Kelsey stressed that her past, present, and future can coexist harmoniously and are not mutually exclusive.

Kelsey and Tom were married for four years after meeting in London in 2009. In September 2024, she openly shared her new relationship and expressed her belief that Tom would eventually guide the right man to her.

In May of this year, Kelsey announced her pregnancy, less than a year after the heartbreaking loss of their son Phoenix, who was stillborn. She revealed that she felt Tom and Phoenix had a hand in her current pregnancy, describing it as a precious gift from heaven amidst the sorrow.

Kelsey said, “A year ago next month, we lost our beautiful baby boy, Phoenix. And somehow, through all the heartbreak, it feels like Tom and Phoenix have sent us another little gift from heaven – our little rainbow baby.”
