A Jet2 aircraft bound for Spain has declared an emergency over the north-west region of England. The flight originating from Liverpool John Lennon Airport en route to Palma de Mallorca Airport issued a 7700 general emergency alert earlier today, as indicated by flight tracking data. The emergency signal was activated at 12,875 feet while the plane was en route to Spain.

According to data from Flightradar24, the flight, scheduled for 8 am, altered its course near Shrewsbury and then redirected back towards Liverpool. Subsequently, the aircraft seems to have performed an unscheduled landing at Manchester Airport based on tracking information from Flightradar24.

One of the passengers confirmed the safe landing of the flight at Manchester Airport this morning. They shared with the Liverpool Echo that there was a sudden vibration and increased noise shortly after takeoff, which was addressed by the captain about 15 minutes into the flight. Despite this, passengers remained calm, and the crew handled the situation professionally, with the captain providing reassurance.

The passenger mentioned that the plane landed safely at Manchester Airport, and they anticipate boarding another flight to continue their journey around 11:25 am. The Mirror has reached out to Jet2 and Manchester Airport for comments on the incident.
