A new television judge is stepping into the spotlight, and he has big shoes to fill. CBS Media Ventures unveiled a preview for “Adam’s Law,” a fresh syndicated daytime courtroom series featuring Adam Levy, the son of renowned Judge Judy. Fans of Judge Judy’s trademark sharp humor and no-nonsense approach will be pleased to see Levy exuding a similar courtroom demeanor, delivering witty and incisive remarks that would make his mother proud.
Interestingly, Judge Judy initially had reservations about passing on the judicial baton to her son. In the preview, she humorously admits that she wouldn’t have supported his show venture years ago because she wasn’t ready to relinquish her role. She jokingly expresses concern that Levy might outshine her, playfully remarking, “And, quite frankly, I think he has the talent to beat me — and I don’t like the idea of that.”
Scheduled to debut on September 14, the new series, produced by Judge Judy herself, follows the conclusion of the original “Judge Judy” after a successful 25-season run on CBS. Levy, with over 25 years of legal experience, including stints as a district attorney and a legal educator, emphasizes the importance of honesty on “Adam’s Law.” He stresses his disdain for falsehoods and highlights his commitment to upholding justice.
Judge Judy has full confidence in her son’s abilities to carry on the family legacy and predicts that his show will become a daytime television favorite. She praises Levy’s engaging personality and legal acumen, expressing certainty that viewers will embrace him just as they did her. Levy, who has previous experience as a judge on courtroom reality shows, is set to bring his expertise to a roster of CBS-affiliated stations in the U.S., including CBS LA and WCBS-TV, as well as on Citytv and Citytv+ in Canada starting September 14.
