This week, McIntosh is gearing up for the Pan Pacific championships in Irvine, California, where she will lead a team of 42 Canadian swimmers across various events. The Pan Pacs, a quadrennial event comparable to the European championships, kicked off with open-water races in Long Beach before moving to the competition pool in Irvine.

While McIntosh will not be competing in the 800m freestyle or 200m butterfly, events in which she has excelled previously, she will showcase her prowess in the 200m freestyle, 400m individual medley, 400m freestyle, and 200m individual medley. McIntosh, under the guidance of renowned coach Bob Bowman, aims to dominate her events and build on her world records and past successes.

Among the international stars to watch at the Pan Pacs are American standout Katie Ledecky and Australian talent Lanni Pallister, who will challenge McIntosh in various freestyle events.
