RCMP officials in Inuvik, Northwest Territories, have announced a shift in their efforts regarding the search for a man who went missing last week. Jovan Sandhu, aged 27, was last observed at the ferry crossing in Tsiigehtchic on Friday, as per the authorities. Following a public appeal for assistance in locating Sandhu, the police have now designated the operation as a recovery mission.
A recent press statement from the police outlined that the search and recovery operations have been expanded to cover the Mackenzie River vicinity near Fort McPherson and Tsiigehtchic. The endeavor now involves the participation of an underwater recovery team, in addition to the police force, local search and rescue teams, and various community volunteers.
Authorities emphasized in the release that they are fully committed to resolving the case and are utilizing all available resources to do so.
