Schachter expressed deep sorrow over the loss, highlighting the widespread affection for Mr. Belding and the fondness that Dennis Haskins’ acquaintances had for him.
Famous for portraying the lovable and fair principal of Bayside High, Haskins gained fame for his iconic catchphrase in the school hallways: “Hey, hey, hey, what is going on here?” Originally from Chattanooga, Tennessee, the actor first played Mr. Belding in the Disney Channel series “Good Morning, Miss Bliss,” which later evolved into the renowned “Saved by the Bell” on NBC, running from 1989 to 1993.
Haskins reprised his role in subsequent series like “Saved by the Bell: The New Class” and made a memorable appearance with former co-stars on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” in 2015. Tributes from his fellow cast members flooded social media platforms, with Tiffani Thiessen reminiscing about Haskins’ supportive presence during their time on the show, and Mario Lopez expressing heartfelt condolences.
Lark Voorhies, who acted alongside Haskins as Lisa Turtle, shared her deep sorrow at the loss, describing their nearly four-decade friendship as a profound blessing.
