International captain Geoff Ogilvy has selected Corey Conners from Listowel, Ontario, and Nick Taylor from Abbotsford, British Columbia, for the upcoming Presidents Cup. Additionally, Ryo Hisatsune will join the team, marking the first time since 1998 that the International squad features two Japanese players, with Hideki Matsuyama securing one of the six automatic spots.
On the U.S. side, Jackson Koivun, who recently departed Auburn, has been added to the team. Koivun, a standout with swift success on the PGA Tour, won the 3M Open in only his third professional start and qualified for the postseason after just five tournaments. His inclusion makes him the first player since Jordan Spieth in 2013 to begin a year without a tour card and compete in the Presidents Cup.
U.S. captain Brandt Snedeker also chose Jacob Bridgeman, a victor at Riviera this season, for the team. Notably, Snedeker opted for Bridgeman over Ryan Gerard, ranked 22nd globally, who had a strong showing at the Tour Championship, finishing in third place.
The Presidents Cup is scheduled for September 24-27 at the renovated Medinah course, which was redesigned by Ogilvy’s golf course design company based in Australia.
