After a tragic incident involving a mother of three named Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis, Donald Trump and his supporters attempted to portray her as a “domestic terrorist.” However, recent footage has raised doubts about this narrative.

Good, who had just dropped off her son at school, encountered a group of ICE agents. She was fatally shot and crashed into a parked vehicle on Wednesday. Following her death, Trump’s team launched an offensive, alleging that Good had used her vehicle as a weapon. JD Vance even described her demise as a “tragedy of her own making,” aligning with the rhetoric common among Trump’s allies.

Despite efforts by the White House to defend the ICE agent involved in the shooting, his own bodycam footage painted a different picture. The video, released by Alpha News, showed the agent filming Good’s face and license plate with his phone, while she remained calm and non-confrontational, telling the officer she was not upset.

As the interaction continued, the ICE agents became increasingly aggressive, demanding Good to exit her vehicle. However, the footage revealed that Good turned her steering wheel away from the officer, not towards him, before the fatal shots were fired. The agent was heard making derogatory remarks towards Good after the shooting.

The video contradicted the narrative pushed by Trump’s supporters, who sought to downplay Good’s death and the ensuing protests, especially in a city still grappling with the aftermath of other tragic incidents like the murder of George Floyd. Melissa Hortman, a Minnesota lawmaker, and her husband were also tragically shot dead in June.

Trump has a history of criticizing Democratic strongholds like Minneapolis, but the recent video evidence has refuted the claims made by him and his allies. Despite their attempts to vilify Good, her loved ones described her as a compassionate Christian and loving mother, highlighting the disconnect between the political rhetoric and the reality of her character.
