A tragic incident unfolded in a serene village as a woman was fatally stabbed, prompting an outpouring of tributes for the beloved victim. The victim, identified as Gilly Livie, aged 68, was discovered with a severe neck wound at her residence in Hampshire on January 9. Despite prompt medical assistance, she tragically succumbed to her injuries. Alongside Gilly, a 39-year-old male acquaintance was also found with critical injuries and swiftly taken to the hospital for treatment, where he is currently in stable condition.

Described as a “lovely lady” by neighbors, Gilly was an active member of the community, known for her love of running and caring for animals. The community was deeply shocked by the incident, with one resident expressing devastation over the loss of the kind and gentle woman. Hampshire Police launched a murder investigation following the tragic event, with officers diligently working to uncover the circumstances surrounding Gilly’s death.

Chief Insp Korine Bishop reassured the community that extensive efforts were being made to investigate the incident thoroughly. While no ongoing threat to the community was identified, the police urged residents with any relevant information or CCTV footage from the evening of January 8 to the morning of January 9 to come forward. Residents were encouraged to contact the authorities with any information that could assist in the investigation.
