A young man was swiftly transported to the hospital via air ambulance after plunging over 65 feet at a popular scenic location in the UK during the weekend.

The incident occurred on Saturday, January 31, just before 2 pm, when a 19-year-old male fell over 20 meters at Dovedale, as confirmed by the Derby Mountain Rescue Team.

The unidentified teenager was found with severe injuries in the Dovedale Valley near Derby. Emergency medical personnel and mountain rescue teams promptly responded to the scene and collaborated to rescue the injured individual.

Following the rescue operation, he was airlifted to the nearby Stoke trauma unit for further medical attention. Currently, the young man is awaiting surgery for a shoulder injury at Stoke Hospital, according to his mother.

Expressing gratitude, the teenager’s mother left a heartfelt message on the Derby Mountain Rescue Team’s Facebook page, thanking the volunteers for their efforts in saving her son. She mentioned, “Hi, I am the young man’s mum. He is in Stoke hospital waiting for surgery on a shoulder injury. Thank you to everyone who helped him. We have been overwhelmed with such kind messages.”

In response, the Derby Mountain Rescue Team conveyed their best wishes to the family.

The incident occurred just before the Derby Mountain Rescue Team was notified of a missing walker in the same vicinity. A statement from the DMRT indicated that concerns were raised about a potential missing person while the team was attending to the trauma incident at Dovedale.

The worried woman sought help after her sister went missing during a coach trip in the Peak District. Fortunately, emergency services located the missing individual, and she was safely reunited with her sister shortly after.
