Vincent Chan, a former nursery worker convicted of more than 50 sex offenses against children, is set to receive his sentencing today. The 45-year-old pleaded guilty to a total of 56 charges, including sexual assault, indecent image creation, and voyeurism.

Chan, residing on Stanhope Avenue in Finchley, admitted to 26 offenses on December 3, involving sexual assault and the production of indecent images of minors. Later, on January 29, he pled guilty to an additional 30 charges, encompassing further indecent image creation, voyeurism, sexual assault, and public indecency.

This morning, Chan is scheduled to appear at Wood Green Crown Court for his sentencing. Victims have shared impact statements, expressing the emotional distress caused by Chan’s actions. Some described feeling violated, paranoid, and fearful due to his offenses.

The court learned that Chan’s victims ranged from toddlers to adults in their mid-70s. Prosecutors detailed how Chan abused his position at a London school and later at a nursery, where he filmed himself sexually assaulting children and engaged in other disturbing behaviors.

Investigators found evidence of Chan’s crimes dating back to 2007, extending until 2024. His actions were uncovered after a whistleblower reported his inappropriate conduct, leading to his arrest and subsequent charges.

The sentencing hearing, overseen by Judge John Dodd KC at Wood Green Crown Court, is a significant step in holding Chan accountable for his reprehensible acts.
