Incoming Atlantic weather systems from the west are anticipated to bring snow and ice overnight into Wednesday morning, affecting a significant portion of the country by midday.

The snowfall forecast for 12pm highlights Scotland with the heaviest snow, potentially impacting cities like Aberdeen, Dundee, and Glasgow. Areas in England, such as Newcastle upon Tyne and Manchester, may experience lighter snow showers, while Stoke-on-Trent could see scattered snowfall.

Northern Ireland, including Belfast, is expected to have lighter wintry showers compared to Scotland, with a possibility of snow but on a smaller scale.

By 3pm, persistent snow is forecasted for Scotland, particularly in elevated areas around Aberdeen and Dundee. Northern England may experience lingering light snow showers, especially over the Pennines, while other regions might see snow transitioning into rain. The southern areas are likely to remain dry without any snowfall.
