The gunman, identified as 31-year-old Cole Thomas Allen from Torrance, California, was swiftly apprehended after reportedly being armed with multiple weapons.

The incident took place around 8:35 pm US time on Saturday evening. Amid the chaos, Trump and the First Lady were swiftly moved by Secret Service agents as gunshots rang out. The suspect, described by Trump as a “lone wolf whack job,” is scheduled for arraignment in federal court on Monday after allegedly targeting Trump administration officials.

Officials confirmed that the suspect, who had no prior criminal record, was armed with a shotgun, a handgun, and various knives during the attack. Despite the alarming situation, the wounded Secret Service agent, who was shot at close range, was saved by his bulletproof vest.
