A delivery company based in the UK has gone into administration. Eagle One Delivery Limited, situated at Appleton Thorn Trading Estate in Warrington, specializing in global freight transport, has officially entered administration after operating for just six years. The company, which was established in 2020, focused on international transport, freight forwarding, shipping, warehousing, and storage services. Situl Devji Raithatha of Springfields Advisory LLP was appointed as the administrator on April 16. The impact on jobs due to the administration remains uncertain.
This development follows a significant increase in UK businesses entering administration or liquidation in recent months. According to reports from The Gazette, as many as 65 businesses have filed notices this month alone. The Gazette serves as the official public record for legal and government notices in the UK.
Loughton Tyres, based in Essex, initiated liquidation proceedings earlier this month. The car tyre garage, established in December 1987, had a strong local reputation, with numerous five-star reviews on Google. Resolutions to wind up the business were effective on April 2, with creditors informed and liquidators appointed on the same day. The London Gazette published the notice on the evening of April 15, naming Ninos Koumettou and Constantinos Pedhiou as joint liquidators.
Gold Crest Holidays, located in Ilkley, West Yorkshire, ceased operations after over 30 years. The family-owned coach tour operator, renowned for organizing trips to destinations like Disneyland Paris and major sporting events, attributed financial pressures as the reason for the closure. The company, which also operated under other names like Advent and Overseas Dream Weddings, stated that all future departures would be canceled, with ABTA handling refunds. The decision to cease operations came as a result of the severe impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic, changes in key business agreements, and a challenging trading environment marked by rising costs.
In January, Gold Crest Holidays announced on its website that it had ceased trading, expressing gratitude to customers, travel agents, suppliers, and staff for their loyalty over the years.
