Two bank employees have tragically lost their lives in a shooting incident, and the perpetrator is still on the loose, according to law enforcement officials.

The incident occurred in Kentucky, where a male and female employee at a U.S. Bank branch in Berea were shot by an armed robber wearing a gray-white hoodie, gloves, and a mask. Trooper Scottie Pennington from the Kentucky State Police stated that efforts are underway to apprehend the suspect responsible for the heinous act.

Authorities are actively seeking leads by conducting thorough investigations, including door-to-door inquiries for information and surveillance footage analysis. Various resources such as helicopters, drones, and canines are being utilized in the search. The investigation involves collaboration between local and state police, the FBI, and other federal agencies.

The whereabouts of the suspect, whether they fled by vehicle or on foot, remain unclear. Law enforcement has not disclosed if the suspect managed to abscond with any items from the bank.

The State police have released a photo of the suspect on social media, urging the public to come forward with any information that could lead to the perpetrator’s identification or apprehension.

In response to the incident, schools in the area were placed on lockdown as a precautionary measure until authorities confirmed the campuses were secure. Students were required to be picked up by their parents as bus services were temporarily suspended.
