Actor Martin Clunes, well-known for his appearances in various British TV shows, has ventured into writing by authoring a book centered around his two dogs, John and Murray. The book, titled “Training John and Murray,” delves into the challenges encountered when bringing these sibling puppies home to their residence in Dorset.
The decision to adopt two puppies from the same litter raised concerns, particularly after consulting with dog trainers, including one named Liesel. Upon learning about “littermate syndrome,” which warns against getting siblings, Martin and his wife were taken aback by the potential difficulties they might face.
The introduction of John and Murray to the household, which already included older dogs such as Labrador and spaniel Heidi, initially caused some tension. Despite initial hesitancy from the older dogs, the puppies eventually found their place amidst the pack.
As training commenced, the once tranquil atmosphere of their home was disrupted, leading to moments of doubt and chaos. However, the charm and unique personalities of the dogs gradually won over Martin and his wife, alleviating their initial concerns.
