Rupert Everett has confessed to going to great lengths to hide his physical insecurities. The 67-year-old actor, known for his roles in popular movies like “My Best Friend’s Wedding” and “An Ideal Husband,” shared that he struggled with body image issues despite his handsome appearance and tall stature.
In a recent interview, Rupert revealed that he felt self-conscious about his height, especially during his teenage years when he was only 5 feet tall. He later grew to be six feet four inches, but he still felt insecure about his thin frame, describing his physique as “skeletal.” To address his concerns, he resorted to wearing a bodysuit that included padding for his bottom, calves, and shoulders, which he obtained from drag queens in Tufnell Park.
Although he wore the bodysuit even while acting on screen, Rupert managed to keep it a secret from directors by wearing it during costume fittings. Currently appearing in the series “Rivals” as Malise Gordon, he admitted to no longer prioritizing exercise, preferring to simply walk his dog for physical activity.
Reflecting on his past fitness routines, Rupert acknowledged that he used to work out extensively but didn’t follow proper techniques, leading to physical issues. Despite knowing the benefits of exercise for longevity, he now avoids strenuous workouts due to past injuries. In a separate development, the actor volunteered at a local pub to help prevent its closure, emphasizing the importance of community spaces like pubs in rural areas.
