Aldi has unveiled a fresh wave of price reductions on more than 200 items. The discounted products span various categories, including fresh and frozen foods, pantry staples, household necessities, and personal care items.

Among the deals available to Aldi shoppers are discounts of 50p on selected fresh British beef steaks. This includes reductions on the 30 Day Matured British Rump Steak (now £4.69), 30 Day Matured British Sirloin Steak (now £5.99), and 28 Day Matured British Fillet Steak (now £6.79).

Additionally, Aldi has slashed prices on its Gianni Ice Cream Lollies, Watermelon Fruit Lollies, and Ice Cream Cookies. For instance, the Ice Cream Lollies and Fruit Lollies are now priced at £1.79, down from £1.99, while the Ice Cream Cookies are now £1.95.

Furthermore, Aldi’s discounts extend to beverages like the New Zealand Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc (now £6.99), Aperini Spritz 4-Pack (now £5.49), and Lacura SPF50+ Sensitive Lotion reduced from £3.49 to £3.29.

So far this year, Aldi has invested over £200 million in price reductions, with an additional £60 million introduced recently. Customers are advised to compare prices across different retailers to ensure they are getting the best deals available.

Julie Ashfield, Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK, emphasized the brand’s commitment to offering quality products at great value. She stated, “Now more than ever, we know that customers are looking to manage their budgets for the weekly shop, which is why we’re constantly reviewing prices across our range.”

In a similar move, Waitrose has implemented price cuts on over 160 own-brand products, part of a £20 million investment to assist customers in saving money. The reductions average 12%, with some items seeing cuts of more than 25%. The Essential Waitrose range accounts for 47% of the reduced products, marking the ninth round of New Lower Prices since 2023 and bringing Waitrose’s total investment to £162.5 million across over 1,000 items.

In other supermarket news, grocery price inflation has eased this month, with prices 3.1% higher than a year ago in May, down from 3.8% in April and 4.3% in March, according to figures from Worldpanel by Numerator.
