Anastacia Updates Fans on Her Health Following Cancer Battles
Pop sensation Anastacia recently shared a health update, reflecting on her journey since being diagnosed with breast cancer over two decades ago. The singer received the initial diagnosis at 34 in January 2003 after a routine mammogram, leading to successful treatment through surgery and radiotherapy. However, at age 45, the cancer resurfaced, prompting her to undergo a double mastectomy to prevent a recurrence.
In 2013, Anastacia, known for hits like “One Day In Your Life” and “Left Outside Alone,” announced her recovery and readiness to move forward after what she described as a challenging experience. Ahead of her 25th-anniversary tour for her debut album “Not That Kind,” she opened up about her health during a radio interview.
Speaking on Heart Breakfast radio, Anastacia expressed pride in raising awareness about cancer by having battled the disease twice. She emphasized the importance of early detection, highlighting her cancer-free status post-surgery and noting the evolving perception of cancer due to medical advancements.
While managing ongoing health issues like Crohn’s disease, Anastacia remains committed to her advocacy work, having established the Anastacia Fund to educate young women about breast cancer. She encourages others to find positivity amid challenges and not let health struggles consume their thoughts, aiming to inspire hope and resilience.
Anastacia’s upcoming UK tour dates in 2026 include performances at the Isle of Wight Festival and various cities across the country. The singer’s enduring message is one of empowerment and perseverance, urging individuals to embrace life’s ups and downs while striving for inner strength and optimism.
