Armed police responded to a disturbance at a vacation park in Cornwall where a woman was reportedly assaulted by a man wielding a knife. The incident occurred near Looe, and authorities were alerted just before 12:30 pm on Friday. The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment of knife injuries and was later discharged the same day.
Following a search conducted at the holiday park and in Plymouth’s Southway area, a 43-year-old man from Plymouth was apprehended on Saturday on suspicion of causing bodily harm through assault. The individual has been granted bail while law enforcement proceeds with their investigation.
Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed the incident, stating that they were informed of the assault at the vacation park near Looe on April 17. The woman’s injuries were attended to at the hospital, and she was subsequently released.
After the suspect fled the scene, with concerns that he may be armed, a thorough investigation involving armed officers was conducted in the vicinity and in the Southway area of Plymouth to locate the individual. The 43-year-old suspect was taken into custody on April 18 for suspected assault causing bodily harm and has been released on bail pending further inquiries.
