Montreal’s Felix Auger-Aliassime suffered a 6-3, 6-4 defeat against American Frances Tiafoe during the Cincinnati Open’s fourth-round match on Wednesday evening. Despite serving 13 aces, the second-seeded Canadian struggled with 37 unforced errors, while Tiafoe, seeded No. 17, only committed 16. Tiafoe secured the win after one hour and 40 minutes.

In the third-round doubles competition, Canada’s Gabriela Dabrowski and Czech player Barbora Krejcikova faced a 6-3, 1-6, 10-7 loss against the Czech pair of Linda Noskova and Marie Bouzkova. Dabrowski, hailing from Ottawa, usually partners with Luisa Stefani, but the Brazilian has been sidelined due to an elbow injury in recent weeks.
