A prominent e-commerce beauty company may change ownership as reports indicate the engagement of advisors to conduct a business assessment.
Established in 1999 by siblings Arron and David Gabbie, Beauty Bay operates from Manchester and offers a wide range of products from over 200 brands, including Ariana Grande, Clinique, MAC, and its own product line.
According to a recent update from Sky News, Beauty Bay is considering various options to secure additional funding, with a potential sale of the company being one of them. Interpath, an advisory firm, is collaborating with Beauty Bay in this process.
With a staff of 65 employees, Beauty Bay has been approached for comment by the Mirror.
In related news, Malin + Goetz, a beauty brand, has entered administration, leading to the closure of its seven UK stores. The affected locations include London sites such as Seven Dials, Soho, Spitalfields, Islington, Canary Wharf, Battersea Power Station, and Borough Yards, impacting over 70 jobs.
Online orders from Malin + Goetz have been temporarily halted, with a message on their website indicating a pause in online sales. However, consumers can still buy their products from third-party retailers like Liberty, John Lewis, and Space NK.
A spokesperson from Malin + Goetz stated to TheIndustry.beauty that, following a comprehensive business evaluation and exploration of all feasible options, the company made the difficult decision to place its UK operations into administration, resulting in store closures and job losses.
While the website of Malin + Goetz is expected to resume operation after a brief maintenance period, the exact timeline remains uncertain. The brand, founded in New York in 2004 by Matthew Malin and Andrew Goetz, initially offered six skin products but later expanded into fragrance, body care, and other beauty segments.
